After dealing with Atlantic Records for more than a decade, Atlanta rapper T.I. is taking his Grand Hustle stable of talent to another major label. It was recently announced that T.I. signed a distribution deal with Columbia Records, which is the home of Beyonce and John Legend.
Believe it or not, the deal came to pass because of Pharrell Williams. Sk8board P pushed for T.I. to sign with Columbia and urged Columbia to enter into the partnership.Williams is also set to executive produce the King of the South’s next album, which will be his ninth. Besides working with Pharrell, Tip has also logged studio time with DJ Toomp and Timbaland.

One thing you don’t do as a person in the media is mess up somebody’s name. Trust me, I’ve done it and damn near have had a ransom put on my head for the simple slip of the tongue. Luxury fashion house Armani recently learned that lesson when they got Alfre Woodard‘s name all the way wrong when they posted a picture of her on their Instagram.
The fashion brand posted a picture of Woodard wearing one of their gowns at The Governer’s Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend. Under the photo, Armani posted the caption, “Idris Elba posing in a gorgeous Giorgio #Armani dress at the 5th Annual Governors Award.” So not only does Armani not know who they are loaning their gowns to, but they also don’t know that Elba is a man and Woodard is a woman. Both to which we say, “Yikes!”

(CNN) — Republican Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin is leaving the door open for a presidential bid in 2016, refusing to commit to serving out a second term. His description of the ideal White House candidate sounds like someone not unlike himself.
“I think it’s got to be an outsider. I think both the presidential and the vice presidential nominee should either be a former or current governor — people who have done successful things in their states, who have taken on big reforms,” he told ABC’s Jonathan Karl in an interview that aired Sunday on “This Week.”

According to TMZ,GQ Magazine‘s “Rapper of the Year”, Kendrick Lamar boycotted the mag’s Men of the Year Party on Tuesday because of the way that they chose to interview and write about him in the mag.
In the interview, which GQ released this week, writer Steve Marsh expresses surprise at Kendrick’s discipline, the fact that he doesn’t drink excessively and womanize like the other rappers. Blank Stare…really? Did he tell Kendrick that he speaks so well and that he is really clean too?
The writer also spends a lot of time talking about the gang violence endemic in Kendrick’s hometown of Compton. Kendrick is a bright spot in that story of a community in pain and anguish…why harp on the negative?
